11.02.2010: February Update

It's been a busy month for us here at OPP. We've been concentrating on a couple of debates we've been organising - the first of which you've probably seen already on our homepage - Will the Real Africa Stand Up?. We had a tight schedule when we met with the African Progress Panel in Geneva to film the debate. The lessons we've learnt from that will stand us in good stead for the upcoming United Nations Governing Council debate we will be filming in Bali at the end of the Month. The debate will focus on UNEP's Green Economy drive - something they've labeled the Green New Deal. A lot of this relates to our series Nature Inc - which examines the growing field of ecosystems economics - and we'd love to hear from you about what you think and any ideas you might have for the next series or for questions to put to the panel at the upcoming debate. In other news we've been hard at work coordinating the upcoming Heroes of Heritage series on global urban regeneration. In the last few weeks we've been in Cuba, Norway and Zanzibar and plans are afoot to make it to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in the next week or so, as well as Ghana and Benin. We'll also be following the great work of the Prince's Regeneration Trust right here in the UK - watch this space for updates!
