Food for Thought
By mid-century we will have to grow enough food to feed 3 billion more people. This is a daunting task made all the more difficult by shortages of fresh water and soil erosion - not to mention the uncertain impact of climate change. This two-part mini-series - first broadcast on World Food Day 2009 - sets out to find stories of the farmers who are increasing production without over-taxing their local environment. 'Food for Thought' was accompanied by 13 x 90 seconds public service announcements.
